This thursday Creative Web Group & Holooli joined forces ,and headed to Yarmouk Private University to spread the word of FOSS (free and open source software)...
The lectures were devided as the folowing
The first part presented by Hala Deeb, she talked about the definition and the phelosophy of free software and open source software and whats the diffirance between them, licencing types
and common mistakes in differntiating free software from open source.
The second part presented by Khaled Alhourani (From Holooli), he talked about FOSS in real world , were he presented real projects that depends on FOSS, plus he talked about the beneficiary earened from using FOSS.
The third part presented by Mhd Zaher Ghaibeh, he talked about the common myth about free and open source software that prevents companies and users from using them. Plus he talked about the best way to decided which is the sutable FOSS choise for your organisation.
The most important thing that we noticed there is that youth are very interested in learning about FOSS and they are eager for more info about the usability and strength of these programs
